Flood disaster Cambodia

20 November 2011
Read here the Don Bosco October issue of FrontPage for Friends. The highlight is about the flood disaster that affects most of our children in the remote areas and even around Phnom Penh. During these past few months Cambodia has been hit by the rain flood which damaged all the rice fields and many houses. The people are suffering because all their livelihood is damaged and they don’t have food to eat and the houses are flooded by water.

Please support the most effected people by making an extra donation to the following bank account: 425 88 70 in name of Stichting Scholenproject Cambodja in Rotterdam with the reference "Help for flooded Cambodia".

Completion secondary school in Andaung Chenh

20 November 2011
In 2011 we financed 30% of the building costs for the Secondary School in Andaung Chenh while the balance was financed from 2 German foundations. The building activities were finished in time to start the schooling for the new school year 2010/2011 end of oktober 2011. Now the scholars can start their primary education and can follow up with their secondary school on the same place.

Tineke van den Beek as the Don Bosco building coordinator wrote us the following:

Dear benefactors,
The construction workers, some are siblings of our students, did an incredible job from beginning to end. Don Bosco Andaung Chenh secondary school looks magnificent! Please see attached file. The remainder: only little jobs and painting parts of in and outside walls and pillars with sand colour Spectro paint. Completion, October 2011. Thanks to Dutch benefactors, Stichting Scholenproject Cambodja Rotterdam, we can start to furnish classrooms with professional single desks and black boards. Attached you find the completion report and accounting summary . We are very grateful for your generosity towards Cambodian youth. Your support is helping them to break out of poverty, illiteracy and ignorance and receive hope...
Best regards from all of us.

Sincerely yours,
Tineke
