Financial Support

Parents of a handicapped girl receive a bicycleOur Foundation is raising funds from individuals for financial support of underprivileged children. This program is handled in Cambodia by the Don Bosco Children Fund, an organisation of the Don Bosco Foundation of Cambodia registered in Phnom Penh. The funds are used partly in cash to offer the parents of the children a substitution for the loss of labour and allowing the children to go to school. Furthermore the families of the children receive monthly a package with soap, washing powder, toothpaste and a brush. Next to this is the money used for tuition, school books, materials and school uniform.

If instead of the monthly minimum amount you pay the standard amount for support SSCR is able to raise the standard of the village school, the housing facilities of the children and provide them with a bicycle for their sometimes very long way to and from school. Only children who are (partially) orphans or who are descended from an extremely poor environment are considered for financial support by our foundation

For primary education the minimal support amount is € 14 per month or € 165 a year.

For vocational training at the technical school of the Don Bosco Foundation in Cambodia, the necessary support funds are: € 25 monthly or € 300 annually.

At the moment more than 14 200 children are following education at 47 schools, which have been repaired or newly built via the SSCR support. SSCR supports 185 children and 2 students.
